You should utilize the screen time tracker apps available on most cell phones and tablets today, especially as we are still going through this period of recommended isolation amidst the pandemic.
If you find yourself already overindulging in the use of these devices, you should take steps to rid yourself of this unhealthy habit. Establishing set hours during which you are allowed to use your devices is a great first step, and if need be let those you live with know of your efforts so they can hold you accountable to these limits. Speaking for myself, I found that limiting my use of these devices while in bed getting ready to go to sleep served to cut down on my screen addiction as well as improve my sleep habits. For your specific situation, you should speak with your sponsor and/or therapist about the amount of time you are spending on your devices and whether or not you need to cut back.
As addicts living in recovery, we need to be mindful of our daily habits lest old behaviors resurface in our new sober lives. One such aspect of your life you should keep an eye on is the amount of time spent on phones, tablets, and in front of the television.
