Intensive Individual & Group Psychotherapy

At Evolutions, it is critical that each Client receives top-level alcohol or drug addiction therapy on a highly individualized level. This is why our treatment approach combines clinical experts from a myriad of disciplines, including the best that the medical, psychiatric, mental health and various holistic fields have to offer. A well-rounded, personally-tailored addiction treatment program is our promise as we work to provide a thorough approach to recovery in a luxurious and tranquil environment.

Core to an individualized approach is one-on-one psychotherapy, administered by professional clinicians and overseen by a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with decades of experience working with the addicted. More often than not, addictions are the result of unresolved emotional conflicts. Throughout the alcohol or drug addiction therapy process, Evolutions professional clinicians help each Client understand, process, and come to grips with their past – and move beyond it. One-on-one counseling with an expert therapist who understands precisely what our Clients are going through makes all the difference. Whether the root problem is anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder or childhood trauma, effective one-on-one psychotherapy that addresses these underlying issues head on is key to overcoming addiction.

One-on-one counseling with an expert psychotherapist who understands what a Client is going through makes all the difference.

Augmenting our one-on-one approach to psychotherapy are our Group Therapy sessions. Group Therapy allows Clients to learn from peers in treatment while sharing their own personal life experiences with all of the facets of addiction and its contributing causes. Led by a seasoned Clinical Psychologist, group sessions are designed to offer a safe, non-judgmental and non-threatening environment in which to learn, share and heal.

As a result of intensive psychotherapy as a core component of our alcohol and drug addiction therapy programs, Clients come to understand their inner motivations more clearly and are better prepared to work towards developing new strategies for creating a healthy, sober lifestyle.

The disease of addiction, though insidious in and of itself, is often accompanied by co-occurring psychiatric disorders which can exacerbate the severity of the condition. Further complicating matters, co-occurring disorders are sometimes difficult to accurately diagnose given that symptoms of addiction can oftentimes be misinterpreted as symptoms of a psychiatric illness, and visa versa.

Proper and effective treatment of a co-occurring psychiatric disorder is hinged upon an accurate diagnosis that commences at the very beginning of our admissions process. Through observation and information gathered from our Nursing and Psychiatric Assessments, coupled with that provided by our Client and his or her family members, our team of clinicians will take the proper steps to accurately diagnose the co-occurring mental disorder so that it can be treated along with the addiction.

Holistic Addiction Treatment Methods

While we pride ourselves in being at the very forefront of scientific and evidence-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation techniques and therapies, we understand that an alternative approach to recovery is sometimes necessary for some Clients in addition to our core drug and alcohol treatment program. That is why we supplement our program with an holistic, lifestyle-based approach to treatment.

Our activity leaders and trained professionals help Clients develop invaluable tools and techniques for achieving levels of relaxation and self-soothing that are critical in learning to mitigate symptoms of distress that could trigger relapse or self-medication. These activities also help our Clients identify and work through emotions that might not otherwise present themselves in ordinary day-to-day or traditional therapeutic activities. This makes our holistic approaches key pieces in many of our Clients’ rehabilitation and recovery processes.

Our goal is to provide alternative means for our clients to achieve a clean, healthy lifestyle, and clarity of the mind, body and spirit.

Among the holistic activities we offer at Evolutions are:

  • Art Therapy

  • Canine Therapy

  • Acupuncture

  • Equine Therapy

  • Meditation Techniques

  • Massage Therapy

  • Nutritional Counseling

  • Physical Fitness Training

  • Spiritual Counseling

  • Tai Chi

  • Yoga (including Vinyasa, Iyengar, Sivananda, and Ashtanga styles of yoga)

Many of these holistic activities can be enjoyed on an individual or group basis. Our fitness trainer runs group classes and boot camps, but also will work with individual Clients to craft highly-specific, personalized workout regimens. This can be done in conjunction with working with our nutritionist to craft a healthy diet with foods considered best for the individual. The overall goal of our holistic approach to substance abuse recovery, in conjunction with our more traditional, evidence-based approach, is to provide alternative means for all of our Clients to achieve the same goal: clean lifestyle and clarity of the mind, body and spirit which support a lasting recovery
